In this role, she leads a team of Category Merchants & Local Development Managers who strive to be the grocer with most relevant and compelling food assortment in Canada.

A fourth generation Sobey family member in the business, Jana began her career with Sobeys at age 14 as a cashier. She has held consecutively senior roles within the company in the areas of marketing, human resources, operations and merchandising.

She is also a Trustee on the Crombie REIT Board and a member of the Sobey Family Council and Business Committee.

Jana holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, a Masters of Arts in Consulting & Entrepreneurship and is active volunteer.

Jana & her husband Ryan reside in Toronto and are the parents to Caitrin and 17 year twins Jack & Ella.

It has been 20 years now that La Tablée des Chefs has carried out its double mission to fight against food insecurity and develop food autonomy for young people. Under the banner of solidarity, more than 13,000,000 meals have been distributed and more than 45,000 youth have developed their culinary skills through our various programs!

To carry out its first mission to fight against food insecurity, La Tablée des Chefs relies on its Food Recovery program, the Solidarity Kitchens food preparation project, as well as the Solidarity Kitchens Next Generation Edition, which mobilizes culinary students.

Its second mission, rooted in educating youth, takes shape through two culinary training programs: Kitchen Brigades and Cook up your Future. Adapted for different target groups, these programs essentially aim to develop young people’s food autonomy through acquiring knowledge and skills related to food and cooking.
