2024 WFIM EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

WFIM FIELD TO FORK EXPERIENCE

What an event WFIM held on July 27th at Lennox Farm.

It was WFIM’s first immersive experience since the pandemic. We also held it on a weekend and in the summer, which were two things we haven’t done before. Our members were ready. We oversold 2 weeks ahead of the event day! Thanks to Miranda O’Connor of the Art of Storytelling and a WFIM member for suggesting the venue! Thanks to our mighty team of volunteers for helping us behind the scenes with the event, shoutout to Barb, Limor, Debbie and Janine plus Felicia, Neksha and Navneet who were new to volunteering and rose to the occasion.

Jeannette and Brian French and family took such great care of us. They hosted this private event for our WFIM group, complete with educational wagon, field tour where we learned about regenerative agriculture first hand AND also got to pick our own vegetables to take home. Then we were served an incredible 4-course meal crafted by Chef Christine Walker & partner Andre of Chefs in the Hills. Vegetables came directly from the fields. Local musicians provided a lovely music backdrop. What a night to remember! Dinner served outside in the country air and we got to network and meet other members and their guests. Thanks doesn’t seem enough for such a wonderful evening we had.

Guests got to also enjoy the Gingerbug Brew generously provided by Megan Silk, another WFIM member who attended.

At the end of the evening, many folks couldn’t resist the store where they could buy more fresh vegetables and goodies to take home.

It was an intimate setting where WFIM members and guests got to share their experience from the event, chat and eat together. Many brought family, colleagues, friends to attend. Everyone learned a bit more about the industry and community we enjoy and contribute. I must say that there was a lot of discussion around the table for further opportunities to connect outside the event on a variety of topics for future events, business collaborations and more!!!

Prior to 2020, WFIM held tours, workshops for our valued members & community. We had to stop them and switch and learn to do virtual during the pandemic. Once things started to open up, we focused on our “Signature events” like our Golf Nine & Dine, Holiday Gala, International Women’s Day and Sustainability events, gauging what our member community now wanted.

Stay tuned for more immersive events popping up in between our signature events. In the meantime, enjoy some of the photos taken from the July 27th event.

See you at our next event – Sept. 24th Golf Nine & Dine at Glen Abbey in Oakville. Registration is open, with early bird ending August 31st.

PS: If you’re interested to see more photos from the July 27th Field to Fork event, they will be posted in our WFIM FB group. Contact admin@wfim.ca to gain access.
